A tech company in Ventura is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will handle month-end close, inventory, and revenue recognition related to deferred and contractual revenue. The ideal candidate is inquisitive, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- 3-7 years of accounting experience
- Must know Netsuite
- Experience with revenue and/or inventory accounting
- SaaS experience a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments within closing deadlines
- Generate month-end reports and ad-hoc analyses
- Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly
- Ensure revenue recognition complies with ASC 606 and other standards
- Review contracts for revenue treatment, including subscriptions, fees, and services
- Collaborate with sales and legal teams on revenue-related terms
- Prepare revenue schedules, deferrals, and accruals monthly and quarterly
- Assist with audits
- Improve processes and internal controls
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
