This position will have responsibility and oversight of all accounting policies, processes, and controls, maintenance of financial records, debt financing, consolidation of financial results, and preparation of internal and external financial reports. The bookkeeper/accountant reports directly to the Treasurer and Board of Directors and will work closely with the Clubhouse Manager, the Greens & Grounds Superintendent, and the Head Golf Professional. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently while contributing to the team environment and providing excellent internal and external service.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Maintain the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities including Accounts Payable, Cash Disbursements, Invoice and Member Billing, Member Credit and Collections, Bi-weekly Payroll, Perpetual Inventory, and Fixed Assets.
- Develop and issue timely monthly Financial Statements for the Board of Directors, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Departmental results.
- Coordinate the annual operating and capital budget for the Club, ensuring financial plans align with organizational goals.
- Administer employee benefits and retirement plans.
- Provide financial analysis tools for evaluating company ventures, projects, programs, capital expenditures, and product costing.
- Communicate with external entities such as audit firms, banks, lessors, insurance agents, retirement administrators, and merchant processors.
Qualifications:
Three to five years of experience in a finance or accounting position, with prior supervisory experience covering A/R, A/P, credit, collections, and general ledger.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
- Ability to interpret financial and numerical data accurately.
- High level of organization and time management skills.
- Ability to lead and be hands-on in a fast-paced small organization.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, written communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
