What You Will Do
- Financial Management: Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and other month-end-close activities. Investigate and analyze financial variances and present to senior management.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with drafting financial statements and related notes for quarterly and annual reporting. Periodically present financial information to regulatory bodies and examiners.
- Cash and Treasury Management: Monitor fund flows and treasury functions to ensure efficient transaction handling, optimize liquidity, mitigate financial risks, and support strategic planning for operations.
- Internal Controls: Own and maintain internal controls activities and documentation to ensure company financial integrity.
- Audit Coordination: Assist with statutory audits by partnering with external auditors and facilitating the timely completion of audit requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with departments such as Legal, Compliance, and Operations to support business initiatives and ensure financial alignment.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy using AI-driven solutions.
Who You Are
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Columbus team. The ideal candidate has substantial exposure to monthly closing processes including reconciliations and accruals. They will be organized and approach each issue from an analytical mindset, will possess a strong understanding of US GAAP, have excellent problem-solving abilities, and demonstrate a deep commitment to team collaboration.
- Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: 6+ years in accounting roles, with experience in a medium to large-size organization, preferably in the banking or fintech industry. Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley controls and compliance. Experience in supervising and reviewing work of outsourced service providers.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in enterprise-level accounting software (SAP S4 preferred) and an eagerness to incorporate AI tools. Strong Microsoft Excel skills (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc.)
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of fintech and banking regulations
- Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
