A loving and professional family in Northern Virginia is seeking a warm, experienced full-time nanny to care for their newborn. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, dependable, and highly knowledgeable in infant care. The position is long-term and offers the opportunity to grow with the family through the baby's key developmental stages.
During the mother's maternity leave (through mid-November), the nanny will begin part-time hours. Full-time hours will begin once both parents return to work.
Part time care to begin on or around October 23rd and then switch to full time on November 18th.

1. Part Time - About 28 hours per week beginning on October 23rd. The exact coverage as follows:
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday (7am to 4:30pm)
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday (5:30am- 4:30pm)
- Tuesday and Thursday (7:00am - 4:30pm)
- Provide attentive, loving care for a newborn (feeding, diapering, naps, soothing, etc.)
- Follow and help reinforce a structured daily routine, including feeding and sleep schedules
- Monitor developmental milestones and engage baby in age-appropriate play
- Prepare and sterilize bottles; support breastfeeding or formula feeding
- Keep nursery tidy and maintain cleanliness of baby's belongings
- Light household tasks related to the baby (e.g., baby laundry, organizing supplies)
- Communicate daily with parents about baby's routines, moods, and progress
- Maintain a calm, peaceful, and safe environment at all times
- Calm, patient, and nurturing demeanor
- Confident in newborn care and sleep support
- Proactive and detail-oriented
- Values communication and collaboration with parents
- Comfortable working in a home with parents occasionally present
- The family may offer paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave for the right candidate

Requirements
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of recent, professional experience caring for infants (newborn experience required)
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
- Up-to-date on childhood immunizations and willing to get MMR and Tdap, if not already
- Strong knowledge of infant development, sleep schedules, and safe sleep practices
- Able to maintain discretion and privacy for the family
- Clear background check and references required
- Non-smoker
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred (but not always required)
