The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the Finance team, reporting directly to the Controller. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. This position will be responsible for managing the general ledger, preparing financial reports, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Oversight And Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
- Perform regular account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Month-End Close Process:
- Lead the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all closing activities.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Audit Support:
- Assist with external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Special Projects and Process Improvement:
- Participate in special projects and initiatives to improve financial processes and systems.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Experience Required:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a similar industry or DTC environment. Big 4 accounting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced MS Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
