Position Summary:The Assistant Director for Student Leadership, Recruitment, and Development is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position reporting to the Director for Residence Life. The Assistant Director for Student Leadership, Recruitment, and Development works closely with other professionals in the administration and management of a comprehensive housing and residence life program that serves 5700+ on-campus students. This position has the responsibility for general administration oversight and management of recruitment, training, and selection of student staff and student leadership programs (RHA & NRHH).
Minimum Qualifications:- Masters Degree with concentration in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Facilities Management, or related field.
- A minimum of four years of full-time experience working in Housing and Residential Programs (Residence Life).

Key Responsibility:Student Leadership Development
Essential Tasks:- Provide vision and development of the Residence Hall Association (RHA), National Residence Hall Honorary, and Hall Council operations.
- Coordinate recruitment, selection, and placement of student staff (Resident Assistants, Desk Assistants, etc.).
- Coordinate and implement training, and continuing development for student staff.
- Maintain staff resources (i.e. Manuals, Resource Room).
- Responsible for the vision and direction of a comprehensive student staff development plan based on core competencies.

Key Responsibility:Supervision and Leadership
Essential Tasks:- Supervise, train, and evaluate 3-4 full-time, live-in, masters level coordinators for residence Life.
- Articulate vision, mission, and goals for the area, department, and division.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of departmental goals and initiatives.
- Conduct regular one-on- one meetings with staff.
- Provide appropriate referrals to other university departments/resources as needed.
- Oversee department committees.
- Serve on an on-call duty rotation for 5,700 residents.

- Maintain accurate accounting of allocated funds and expenditures.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members, departments, and offices across the University to foster strong partnerships.
