The Position
The Learning & Development Specialist is a member of the Learning & Development Team that supports training programs within Washington County's Land Use & Transportation Department. This role will initially focus on the training program for the Operations & Maintenance Division. To learn more about the Operations & Maintenance Division, use this link.
This position will help our employees remain compliant and acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for the desired performance. They will do this by providing administrative assistance to the Learning & Development Analyst in researching training, gathering data and resources, creating feedback and evaluations, setting up and scheduling training sessions, and using the learning management system to upload, assign, track, and report all learning experiences.
Please note: This position works four 10-hour days in summer and five 8-hour days the remainder of the year.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Business or Public Administration, Training and Development, Organizational Development, Human Resource Management, or a related field AND one (1) of increasingly responsible administrative support or experience in training, and/or learning development .OR
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative support or experience in training, and/or learning development.

Selection Process

- Panel Interview(s): Our goal is to schedule panel interviews with candidates that meet the minimum qualifications and pass the SME reviewas soon as possible.
- Reference Checks: The hiring manager will conduct reference checks on the top candidate.
- Salary Analysis & Conditional Offer: Human Resources will conduct a salary analysis for the successful candidate(s) and extend a conditional offer of appointment.
- Post-Offer Checks: Human Resources will conduct any required backgrounds or driving records (if the position requires them)
- Start Date: A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met.
