Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant
Our client, a leading construction firm, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the companys tax strategy and compliance, working closely with senior management.
Core Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance and Reporting: Coordinate and manage the collection of financial data to facilitate the accurate preparation of federal and multi-state partnership and corporate tax returns, working in conjunction with external accounting partners.
- Conduct thorough reviews of tax workpapers, distribution calculations, and completed returns provided by external firms, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Prepare and file internal tax submissions as needed, including quarterly estimated tax payments for federal and state jurisdictions.
- Tax Provision and Analysis: Participate in the development and execution of the companys tax provision process, contributing to accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze tax implications of construction-related transactions and projects, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Investor and Audit Support: Respond to inquiries and requests from investors regarding tax-related matters, providing clear and concise explanations.
- Assist in the preparation and support of IRS and state tax authority audits, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
- Strategic Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax planning strategies tailored to the construction industry, optimizing tax efficiency and minimizing liabilities.
- Identify and evaluate potential tax planning opportunities, ensuring alignment with the companys overall business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive tax experience, preferably a combination of public accounting and private industry, with a focus on partnership taxation. Experience within the construction industry is highly valued.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with tax software and financial reporting systems.
- CPA certification preferred.
