Senior Accountant

KBW Financial Staffing and Recruiting has teamed up with a Real Estate Development company on a search for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting development project accounting. This role requires a strong understanding of GAAP, real estate project accounting, and a collaborative mindset to partner with project managers and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings for multiple entities and development projects
• Manage job cost tracking, construction draw requests, and capital expenditure reporting
• Prepare financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Maintain general ledger and ensure proper classification of transactions
• Track project budgets vs. actuals, identifying and explaining variances
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and accurate financial updates
• Monitor intercompany transactions, distributions, and investor capital accounts
• Implement and improve accounting processes and internal controls

The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Experience

• Bachelors degree required
• 35+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in real estate development, construction, or property management
• Strong understanding of real estate project accounting, WIP, and cost segregation
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Compensation: $80 - $120K plus bonus
