Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will provide day-to-day human resources support across key functional areas, with a strong focus on employee relations. This role will serve as a key resource for employees and managers, helping to foster a positive workplace environment through effective conflict resolution, policy guidance, and coaching. The HR Generalist will also support recruitment, onboarding, training, and HR compliance, ensuring consistent and fair application of HR practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Act as a first point of contact for employee relations issues; investigate and help resolve concerns in a fair, timely, and consistent manner.
  • Coach managers and employees on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in alignment with company policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Support the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist with the coordination and facilitation of onboarding, employee training, and engagement activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Partner with the HR team on recruitment, including posting positions, screening applicants, and supporting interview logistics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth employee transitions and effective workforce planning.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports to support organizational planning and identify trends in employee relations and workforce metrics.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to HR processes and employee experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional HR Generalist experience, including hands-on experience with employee relations.
  • Solid knowledge of HR practices and employment law.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred but not required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and foster teamwork across all levels of the organization.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Proven ability to handle employee relations issues with professionalism, consistency, and a strong understanding of employment law and internal policies.
  • Proactive problem solver with attention to detail and a commitment to follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ADP and Greenhouse preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel to nearby San Diego locations as needed.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.

Pay range
$65,000-$75,000 USD
