Hyatt Place Pasadena is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and self-motivated
Bartender
to deliver world-class beverage service in line with our brand standards. The ideal candidate will combine exceptional mixology skills, uncompromising honesty, and outstanding guest service to create memorable experiences for every visitor.
Responsibilities
Greet guests, present menus, answer questions, and take food and beverage orders. Accurately process all transactions, including guest and staff orders, ensuring integrity in handling payments at all times. Prepare and serve beverages (cocktails, beer, wine, coffee, tea) in accordance with recipes and brand standards. Maintain full knowledge of beverage offerings, including spirits, beers, wines-by-the-glass, after-dinner drinks, and non-alcoholic options. Create and suggest drink recipes to enhance the guest experience. Prepare appetizers and light food items according to recipes and high food safety standards. Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure guest health and compliance with regulations. Operate the POS system accurately for all transactions. Follow proper safety procedures when using knives, ovens, toasters, and other equipment. Maintain a clean and organized bar, including wiping chairs, tables, and beverage areas. Monitor and limit alcohol service to guests when necessary, following Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) guidelines. Ensure proper reporting of tips for tax purposes. Remain visible and attentive behind the bar at all times. Promote and maintain safe work practices to prevent accidents. Deliver personable, engaging service to all guests. Qualifications
Previous bartending experience preferred. Must meet legal age requirements for serving alcohol. Current
Food Handler
certification required. Current
Responsible Beverage Service (RBS)
certification required. TIPS
certification preferred or must obtain upon hire. Proven record of honesty, reliability, and trustworthiness in handling payments and orders. Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to multi-task and perform in high-pressure situations. Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods (6+ hours). Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs., and occasionally 45 lbs. or more (e.g., kegs, tables, chairs).
