Description of Services
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking
two (2) Business Analyst Level 2
professionals to support various technology and innovation projects impacting daily DPS operations. The selected candidates will play a critical role in gathering and analyzing requirements, facilitating Agile project processes, and ensuring alignment with DPS's mission, goals, and objectives.
Responsibilities include:
Facilitate the gathering and documentation of themes, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in accordance with DPS standards. Convert existing use cases into actionable user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria in Jira. Analyze existing process documentation to identify opportunities for operational improvements. Support project development teams and quality assurance processes in estimating story points for predictive level-of-effort models. Assist with development and implementation of initiatives to enhance agency effectiveness and compliance. Deliverables:
Creation of themes, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria aligned with DPS standards. Updated Jira entries for use cases. Process documentation with recommendations for efficiency improvements. Candidate Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
4 years (Required):
Experience as a senior-level Business Analyst in a technology-related field. 3 years (Required):
Working knowledge of Agile project management methodology and practices. 1 year (Preferred):
Experience in understanding and documenting use cases. 1 year (Preferred):
Experience with process documentation and mapping.
