Senior Artificial Intelligence Ethics Subject Matter Expert (AI Ethics SME)
to support the Department of Defense's Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) initiatives. This role leads ethical analysis, governance, and technical engagement related to AI applications and works closely with senior leaders to ensure legal, policy, and societal implications of AI systems are fully addressed.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and lead Responsible Artificial Intelligence tabletop exercises and comprehensive assessments. Conduct thorough gap analyses and develop actionable courses of action. Direct the implementation of ethical standards throughout the AI development lifecycle. Advisor on strategic policy, acquisition strategies, and operational planning to ensure RAI compliance. Evaluate the integration of human factors, cybersecurity safeguards, and ethical considerations within emerging AI systems. Contribute to the creation and refinement of technical and non-technical documentation, toolkits, and knowledge repositories. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Applied Ethics, Artificial Intelligence Ethics, Data Ethics, or a related field. 12+ years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in artificial intelligence (AI) or closely related fields. 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, human factors, ethics, and policy. 2+ years conducting RAI analysis and designing implementation plans for the Department of Defense. Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI). Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree in applied Ethics, Data Ethics, or Artificial Intelligence Ethics. Experience supporting the Office of the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (OCDAO) or Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC). Pay Range: $170,000-$215,000 The Ennoble First pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
