Job Summary:
Under direction of the Director of Human Resources the HR Specialist is responsible for processing employment actions for all licensed, nonaffiliated, directors; maintenance of HRIS system; monitoring and assisting staff with benefit and general HR issues; maintain and process information for assigned employee insurance plans; communicate leave of absence policies and procedures for assigned groups. Responsible for managing recruiting events, establishing partnerships, and creating a pipeline of positions throughout the district.

Tasks involved in fulfilling above duty/ responsibility:
Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the needs of the organization. Assists with job posting and advertisement processes. Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders. Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions. Attracting suitable candidates through databases, online employment forums, social media, etc. Performs other tasks as directed. Duty/ Responsibility Number: 2
Statement of Duty/ Responsibility: Personnel Administration

Tasks involved in fulfilling above duty/ responsibility:
Coordinates the employee recruitment, selection and orientation process for assigned employee groups Organizes and conducts group and/or individual orientation meetings for assigned employee groups Monitors the collection, computer entry and file maintenance of all required employee documentation. Serves as district HIPPA Coordinator to ensure compliance. Completes the preparation of employee assignment documents for assigned employee groups Team with the HR Specialist to prepare personnel items for consent agenda for all board meetings Completes yearly staffing process including staffing letters, notifications, and board documents Responsible for processing Leave of Absences for Certified, Non-Affiliated, and Directors Coordinates the maintenance and publication of seniority lists for all bargaining units. Provides support to the Director of HR/Superintendent and other district leadership with contract negotiations Maintains contracts, and ensures all information is updated and published on district website Performs other tasks as directed. Tasks involved in fulfilling above duty/ responsibility:
Assists with the implementation and administration of assigned employee groups benefits programs for the school district. Assures compliance with state and federal benefit regulations such as COBRA, FMLA and Long-Term Disability. Maintains the administration of the district tax sheltered annuity, and flexible benefit programs. Communicates all required benefits information to employees, payroll and other involved departments. Assures that documents related to employee retirement plans are properly processed. Coordinates the administration of benefits for retirees and conducts individual meetings for retiring employees. Acts a liaison between the school district and vendors of benefit programs. Participates in the district's insurance advisory committee Assists with Open Enrollment for benefits on a yearly basis: communication to employees, presentations, reports, and benefit deduction set. Completes required ACA reporting in conjunction with the Payroll Specialist Performs other tasks as directed. Duty/ Responsibility Number: 4

Monitors teacher/administrator licensure renewal, and maintains related records and data files. Prepares, publishes and maintains various reports and records, including yearly staffing report. Complete yearly STARS report Performs other tasks as directed. Duty/ Responsibility Number: 5
Statement of Duty/ Responsibility: Payroll/Finance Support
Percent of Time: 10
Completes and communicates lane changes per contract for all certified staff Completes fiscal year end process for all employees along with the HR Specialist, and Payroll Specialist: Leave roll over, Benefit deductions update, step advancements per each contract. Serves as a backup to the Payroll Specialist: processes and completes payroll, pays taxes, and balances the districts payroll for all employees. Performs other tasks as directed.
Knowledge:
• Federal and state legal regulations and reporting requirements governing public employment. • Employee benefit plans and the procedures required for proper administration of these plans.
Skills: • Use of personal and mainframe computers and related spreadsheet, word processing, and data base software at an advanced level. • Responds effectively to sensitive inquiries • Strong initiative and exercise sound judgment, and interpersonal skills • Strong planning and organizing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
Abilities:
• To read, analyze, and interpret insurance policies, union contracts, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. • To write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. • To effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, teachers, colleagues, and the general public. • To establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the community. • To communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. • To perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. • To manage multiple responsibilities
Education: Associates Degree with 3 Years experience Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related field.
Experience Preferred:
Public school human resources experience

Salary:
$76,000 - $83,000
