JOB SUMMARY The Facility Manager is responsible for providing leadership for the facility support services for the Fort Valley Main Production Plant, Blue Bird West Facility and Blue Bird leased warehouse. Building maintenance, logistical management activities and health/safety responsibility is included. This person must be highly motivated and be able to transfer this motivation to the workforce. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Promote and provide a safe, healthy work environment Provide facility support for office and production areas and activities Oversee and schedule the housekeeping and building maintenance staff Planning, scheduling, coordination and execution of projects / activities Must be able to train and develop employees Must be supportive of management decisions and company policy Must maintain 5 S techniques and housekeeping objectives within the assigned work area Must be able to evaluate employee performance and offer constructive criticisms or praise in a positive manner Must be able to formulate and maintain departmental budgets Must be able to lead or act as a positive change agent in the workplace KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS Strong organizational skills, coordination of multiple activities Strong knowledge about fire protection system Ability to plan, manage and deliver projects on time and in budget Preventative maintenance schedules and continuous improvement techniques Strong foundation in basic industrial engineering Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Must have working knowledge of Lean techniques and capabilities to apply principles Must have established excellent oral and written communication skills Must have previously established leadership experience in an industrial environment Must be able to read and interpret blueprints BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED High School Diploma or GED Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in maintenance Minimum 5 years of previous experience in maintenance Minimum 2 years working with fire protection experience All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Minimum 4 years of leadership experience in maintenance WE VALUE Ability to anticipate and understand customer needs and provide guidance Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills to handle difficult and sensitive matters. Strong project management skills. Exposure to difficult or complex projects a plus.
