About the Role: Emergency Veterinary Assistants play a vital support role in providing urgent and intensive care to animals in critical conditions under the supervision of veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians. Compensation: $16 - $21/hr depending on experience. Anticipated Schedule: Part Time Days/Shifts: TBD Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Ensure pets are clean, comfortable, and well-cared for, including alerting veterinarians to any changes in patient conditions. Technical Support: Sets up and assists with procedures such as IV catheterization, chemotherapy administration, and radiological techniques while maintaining high safety standards. Client Communication: Effectively communicate with clients and team members to provide updates and ensure optimal patient care. Hospital Maintenance: Keep the facility clean, stocked, and organized, and handle laundry and inventory tasks as needed. Administrative Duties: Accurately complete medical records, assist with lab tests, and support management with various administrative tasks. Additional Duties: Support small projects and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed. Contribute to inventory management and day-to-day workflow improvements. Requirements: At least two years of recent veterinary experience with growing responsibilities. Experience working as a veterinary assistant in an emergency hospital preferred. Strong ability to manage detailed information and perform patient restraint. Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology and procedures. Demonstrated empathy for animals and exceptional client service skills. Ability to work independently, stay on task, and communicate effectively. Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
