lead on-site operations
for a high-impact intelligence mission in
McLean-Langley, VA . As the
site lead , you won't just maintain systems-you'll be at the forefront of mission-critical operations, ensuring reliability, security, and performance across a complex IT landscape. Why This Role Matters
In this key leadership role, you'll drive the performance and stability of our customer's systems, enabling critical national security operations. From managing Tier 2/3 support to implementing infrastructure upgrades, your technical expertise will make a real difference-every day.
You'll be the trusted go-to expert, working closely with both local and remote teams to solve challenges, improve systems, and deliver results that matter. What You'll Do Oversee and manage desktop and server systems across LAN/WAN environments Provide Tier 2/3 support for Unix/Windows systems, including web servers and network-attached storage Support and maintain the full lifecycle of IT systems-from installation to troubleshooting Install, configure, and maintain OS software and updates across platforms Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware/software issues Implement operating system enhancements for improved performance and security Support backup/recovery planning and data center operations Ensure compliance with STIG security standards using tools like Retina and HBSS Document SOPs and maintain system configuration standards Coordinate and communicate with internal customers and leadership Provide on-call and after-hours support as mission requires Work core site hours: 0530-1800, with potential for 24/7 mission-essential response during critical events What You Bring Bachelor's degree + 8 years of relevant experience (or equivalent) Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
(required) Security+ certification
(or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent, within 90 days of hire) Strong background in
Unix, Windows , and
storage administration Hands-on experience with ticketing systems and issue tracking Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot, and lead under pressure Willingness to travel (0-20%) to local and regional customer sites Physically able to lift and move up to 40 pounds of equipment Preferred Qualifications Experience in imagery intelligence systems a plus Scripting skills in Windows, Linux, or Solaris environments Familiarity with databases (Sybase, Informix, SQL) and imagery production workflows Red Hat, IRIX, Solaris experience preferred Background in network administration and configuration Prior experience working with the customer's tools, workflows, or mission systems Valid US Passport Location
