The University of Iowa's College of Dentistry is looking for a full-time Dental Assistant to join us as a key member of our team in Endodontics to work alongside faculty and residents. Assist doctors and graduate students at chairside with dentistry procedures ranging from examination to root canals, retreatments, and surgical procedures. Maintain a safe work environment and use appropriate protective equipment, observe OSHA guidelines. Maintain and restock supplies and maintain a clean, aseptic operatory and laboratory area. Expose and process radiographs digital, CBCT scans as requested. Ability to operate necessary machines and instruments used in Endodontic Dental Assistant duties. Assist in sophomore lab. Take digital radiographs. Distribute supplies. College of Dentistry
Endodontics Salary: $46,604.16 Schedule: Monday
Friday, 8:00am
5:00pm. May require occasional overtime. An advanced starting salary may be possible based on exceptional qualifications. Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Successful completion of a CODA accredited dental assistance program or one-year full-time equivalency in chairside assistant experience assisting in four-handed method of dentistry. Must have a current certificate of registration to practice as a dental assistant issued by the Iowa Board of Dental Examiners (QDA) Must possess current Iowa certificate of proficiency in dental radiography (QDA) No additional work experience beyond the requirements for this position May require Expanded Functions (EF-1 and/or EF-2) based on specific needs assigned by provider. Desirable Qualifications: Endodontics experience Demonstrates excellence in patient care Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Current DANB Dental Assistant Certification Experience with Electronic Health Records In order to be considered for an interview, applicants must upload a resume (and mark as "Relevant File") to their submission.
