The College of Dentistry is looking for a Support Services Specialist to join our Hospital Dentistry team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring smooth clinic operations. apply today! Key Responsibilities: Schedule and coordinate patient appointments using AxiUm and Epic systems. Manage provider calendars and daily clinic schedules. Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations. Collect co-pays and assist with patient billing questions. Coordinate referrals and ensure necessary documentation is available. Communicate with patients, providers, and external offices. Train new staff, residents, and student employees on clinic protocols. Resolve scheduling conflicts and urgent care needs. Support clinic workflow and contribute to process improvements. Maintain accurate patient records and appointment data. Salary: $39,974.40 to commensurate (Pay Grade: 3A) Schedule: 32 hours per week, To Be Determined between Monday

Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. May require occasional overtime. Work Location: On-Site Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required. 6 months

1-year relevant experience in a health care environment, including the following skillsets: Experience scheduling for multiple providers in a healthcare environment Experience gathering and verifying insurance coverage Experience with electronic health records Experience working in Windows based networked database using multiple data tools Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Desirable Qualifications: Experience with dental terminology Some knowledge of university policies, procedures, and regulations. Experience in a public health setting Experience utilizing active conflict management/resolution skills and de-escalation techniques.
