Business Analyst
Job Summary:
Under the leadership of the Purchasing & Ancillary Services (PaAS) Director, the Business Analyst is responsible for owning and supporting procurement program deliverables. Specific areas of focus include: ownership of team assignments & rigorous documentation, diverse data analysis and reporting, defining or capturing new & revised product and business processes; setup & facilitation of meetings, event coordination, stakeholder communication and tasks as assigned in PaAS. The Business Analyst will leverage their skills and knowledge of process evaluation methodologies, data analysis techniques, using supporting tools & systems. With a strong emphasis on system data analysis, process standardization, documentation & training, the Business Analyst will independently own business process assessments, sometimes as a part of team projects, or under guidance by PaAS leadership. The Business Analyst role reports to the PaAS e-Procurement Specialist. Essential Job Responsibilities: Supports systems within the PaAS domain through knowledge of solutions, modules and operational procedures Performs diverse data analysis, trend reporting; diagrams / charts creation for stakeholders Prepares reports as required by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information Contributes to operational improvements through business review, elicitation, and evaluating business input/output requirements and formats Documents current & future processes constructing workflow visualization; studying system capabilities; writing specifications and operational procedures Maintains training & reference material for users by writing or updating user documentation Willingness to learn new technologies; independently administer technical solutions with guidance and supervision from e-Procurement Specialist Prepare PaAS-related business transactions when required Contributes to team goals by owning, driving & accomplishing collaborative results Ability to work across teams, build consensus & facilitate business process workshops Other duties as assigned Requirements: Self-motivated to own and complete time-sensitive tasks, documentation & business process assessments Strong critical thinking skills while maintaining objective analysis An eagerness to learn, map & improve business processes; illustrating in tools such as Visio or Lucidchart Degree in business, data science, IT or operations desirable; 3-5 years of similar experience considered At least 2 years of relatable work experience; business or data analysis ownership of 6 months or longer preferred Demonstrable skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Google for Higher Education Suite (Google Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Sheets) Intermediate to advanced skills in planning, analysis & process mapping required Active listener with strong verbal & written communication skills Ability to work in team environment & multi-task effectively Detail-oriented and highly organized Higher education experience advantageous Tableau certification, Jaggaer, Banner or ERP systems knowledge desirable PMI-PBA, IIBA CBAP, CCBA or ISM CPSM certifications a plus Application Documents: Cover letter Resume Workflow diagram and writing sample Full-Time/Part-Time:
