Assistant Professor of Biostatistics

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics in the School of Public Health. Role of the Position The SPH at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is recruiting for one full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Biostatistics at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates must have a solid methodological background in biostatistics, statistics, or related field (epidemiology), excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong interest in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate, Masters and PhD degree-seeking graduate students, and the ability to collaborate with research investigators in community health and/or related fields of study. Current Biostatistics faculty research interests range from chronic and infectious diseases, clinical trials, brain health, global health and health disparities. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in biostatistics, epidemiology or public health, conduct scholarly work, as well as obtain extramural funding. Minimum Qualifications Candidates are required to have a Ph.D in biostatistics, statistics, or a similar field (epidemiology/public health) from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Preferred Qualifications The Department of Brain Health is interested in collaborating with the selected candidate; expertise in biostatistics and advanced analytical techniques as well as expertise in neurodegenerative disease, clinical trials, and/or repetitive head injury and brain health is a plus.
