Salary: $2,732.00 - $4,682.00 Monthly Location: St. Gabriel, LA Job Type: Classified Job Number: 413-25-102 Department: DOC-Elayn Hunt Correctional Center Opening Date: 08/13/2025 Closing Date: 8/18/2025 11:59 PM Central Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is the primary Reception Center for adult male prisoners, and is the primary mental health unit for the Department of Corrections. The incumbent performs daily administrative assignments of confidential nature with a working knowledge of DOC rules and regulation, state and federal laws, and institutional policies and procedures which relate to the overall function and operation of the mental health department at this facility. Using Data: The ability to use relevant and valid data to inform a recommendation for action. Minimum Qualifications: Three years of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. Job Duties and Other Information: Job Duties: Gather and composes information on special assignments and reports. Accumulate information for reply to requests by telephone and/or written material. Composes letters of reply and @type correspondence. Types and performs clerical duties for the division as required. Operate computer terminals relating to data entry, inquiry and reports. Organizes, confidential files and materials. Maintain filing system for all facets for the Division. Sorts and distributes mail, organizing inter-institutional correspondence, review to determine correspondence requiring immediate attention or responses in a timely fashion through regular processing. Provides inmate Education and Enrollment, Review and process inmate case management reports, Schedule and attend Case Management Meetings. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: PROBATION, or Promotion of a permanent, classified Louisiana State EMPLOYEE. Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted. An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted. This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
