FA Compensation Team Lead
This position is responsible for leading the FA Compensation team, including oversight of FA compensation plans. Responsible for understanding all aspects of FA compensation in their prospective channel. Trains and leads team on customer service expectations along with the FA Compensation processes and procedures. Ensures all tasks are completed by the team by their prospective deadline. Resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems and actively participates in implementing the change. Maintains contact with internal and external customers to identify, research and resolve problems. Provides excellent customer service, professionalism, and efficient support to staff and associates throughout the firm. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs supervisory activities, including identifying performance problems and seeking guidance for remedial action, participating in reviewing performance, and interviewing and selecting staff. Participates in planning, assigning, monitoring, reviewing, evaluating, and leading the work of others. Coaches, mentors, and motivates subordinates; identifies training needs and recommends development programs. Oversees commissions and commission-related payments and changes using multiple unique, highly ambiguate systems to handle the complexity of various business unit compensation plans (i.e., commissions, transfer pay, override, salary charges, payouts, etc.). Prepares and implements written procedures and job documentation for processing steps. Ensures data and reconciliation accuracy and reports on any matters of interest. Oversees the distribution of payments and payment arrangement options. Ensures strict confidentiality is always maintained. Interprets and applies organizational policies and procedures. Participates in establishing objectives and developing processes and procedures to ensure efficient and timely workflow. Ensures effective coordination occurs within a workgroup and with other workgroups. Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Comprehensive understanding of company policies and procedures and industry rules and regulations. Concepts, principles, and practices of accounting related to PCG compensation and record keeping. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal with clients, financial advisors, support staff, and home office personnel in all types of matters including those that may be sensitive. Commitment to providing a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner, constantly projecting a Service 1st attitude. Ability to effectively organize, manage, track and complete multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. Employ good analytical skills to be able to research and resolve problems. Work independently, under minimal supervision. Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and databases. Skill in Maintaining and analyzing data from a variety of data sources (PeopleWorks, PeopleSoft, Deals). Interfacing with highly complex clients to understand their business flow and compensation needs. Verifying mathematical calculations. Interpreting and applying policies and procedures. Implementing processes and procedures for efficient and timely workflow. Promoting effective coordination between work groups. Ability to Oversee the work of others and manage their career planning. Read, interpret, analyze, and apply payroll data, regulations, and information. Motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes within the limits of organizational authority. Identify and recommend changes as appropriate based upon updated regulations and firm policies. Consult with business units on complex compensation calculations and processes. (ii.e., new products or acquisitions) Oversee the review and analysis of requests from highly complex business units to ensure compliance with firm directives. Maneuver within unique systems to oversee complex compensation setup and calculations. Work under pressure on multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with highly complex clients. Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Handle stressful situations and lead others in providing a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner. Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. Ensure strict confidentiality is always maintained. Educational/Previous Experience Requirements Education/Previous Experience Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related discipline and a minimum five (5) years' experience in FA Compensation Processing or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience. Minimum of two years' experience overseeing day-to-day operations of subordinate staff. Experience with multi-faceted compensation schedule including salaried and commissioned associates. Licenses/Certifications SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.
