Material Handler
Join our team as a Material Handler where you will play a crucial role in supporting our machine operators by managing steel materials. You will work primarily indoors but will also engage in outdoor tasks, such as using an overhead crane to transport finished beams and labeling steel. Your role will include pairing materials for welders, cleaning parts, rigging materials, and general labor duties. You may also assist in unloading flatbed trailers, requiring a comfort with heights and an ability to rig steel beams for cranes. If not already certified, you will be trained to operate a forklift for material transport. Physical activity is a part of this role, including walking, standing, and bending for 8-10 hour shifts. Responsibilities
Transport steel materials to machine operators using overhead cranes. Label and pair materials for welders, ensuring accurate marking. Clean parts and prepare materials by rigging them for crane movement. Assist in unloading flatbed trailers and rigging steel beams. Learn forklift operation for material transport if not already trained. Walk, stand, and bend for extended shifts both indoors and outdoors. Manage inventory using computers and manual pick tickets. Verify loads, weights, and materials for shipping and receiving. Essential Skills
3-5 years experience in manufacturing or distribution. Forklift operation skills. Inventory management and control. Shipping and receiving expertise. Material handling knowledge. Ability to work in heavy industry or outdoors. Experience with overhead cranes. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a facility with indoor and outdoor work. Ability to read a tape measure. Motivated and self-directed work ethic. Comfort with cold weather and steel work conditions. Why Work Here?
