Location(s): Waxahachie, TX, US, 75165 Function: Manufacturing Audience: Hourly Work Arrangement: On Site Department: Production Reports to: Shift Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-exempt Pay Rate: $22.71 Shift Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts including nights, holiday, and weekends Summary Performs the role of operator for the packaging process. This includes but is not limited to operating all packaging equipment, operating forklifts, final selection of quality product, participation in Total Productive Maintenance programs, and effectively executing safety, housekeeping, environmental, quality, and waste elimination processes Principal Duties and Responsibilities Visually inspects, selects, packages, and labels products according to specifications Positions and loads waretrucks, racks, etc. Sets-up and operates auto baggers, retail baggers, and unitizers/balers Operates scrap compactor, stretch wrappers, reconditioning equipment, conveyors, pinwheel, packagers, palletizers, labeling and printing equipment, belt roll-ups, etc. as required to perform the job Performs packaging operations (including but not limited to, palletizing, assembling, and sealing cartons, closing bags, wrapping bundles, etc.) Salvages, reconditions, re-bags, re-selects off quality product Feeds off-ware into the reconditioning machine Disposes of off-quality materials, scrap, sludge, and other debris Assists in the start-up of equipment (including, but not limited to, insuring product goes on to overhead conveyor, rolling up of uncured product, stripping off of facings, clearing of jam-ups, etc.) Checks weight and packages of reconditioning bags Participates in OCO's, rebuilds, and other downtimes Assists with equipment changeovers and cleans equipment as needed Participates in waste elimination processes, including standard work Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed Note: The following tasks are assignment based and are not a part of this position's daily tasks. Training and certification on these tasks may occur post-certification: Uses high pressure cleaning equipment (ex. NLB, Hotsy, steam cleaners, etc.) to clean oven chains, forming chains, fans, trenches, drop out boxes, shaker screens Waxes oven chains Checks out and operates forklifts and JLG's, after proper training, at the direction of the Cold End Group Leader or Packing Process Tech II of the area Skills and Abilities The employee should hold the following abilities: Must be able to read, write and speak English Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions Must possess strong communication and organizational skills Must have the ability to multi-task Must have strong internal and external customer service skills Must work well in team environment Must be able to work independently Must have ability to do basic math Possess leadership skills Strong commitment to safety Ability to drive TPM techniques Computer and Software Competencies The employee must be able to: Operate a computer and other keyboard instruments Learn SAP, IPOP and LTS systems Education and/or Experience The employee should have the following: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required Possess valid forklift driver certification Possess valid front end loader certification Manufacturing Experience Required Essential Physical Requirements/Work Environment The employee should possess the ability to: The ability to work varying or 12 hour rotating shifts Medical certification to wear respirator protection Exposure to hot/cold temperatures on a regular basis Exposure to continuous noise and able to wear hearing protection Lifting, carrying/moving up to 50 pounds Standing frequently Bending frequently Walking continuously Nearest Major Market: Dallas Nearest Secondary Market: Fort Worth
