Administrative Assistant

Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant reporting to the College of Science & Technology's Biology division Senior Business Manager will provide support to the Chairperson, Business and Academic Offices. Will provide administrative assistance for course scheduling for the department's undergraduate and graduate programs. Collaborates with Biology Vice Chair to develop the course schedule for all academic programs offered by the department. Manages and updates Biology course schedule on Banner, R25 and other university systems. Assists faculty, staff and students with instructional and research issues. Process TUmarketplace orders, submit invoices and travel reimbursements in concur for payment. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience At least two years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Essential Functions of Position: Assistant to Vice Chair/Undergraduate Chair/Graduate Chair/Business Manager Course Scheduler for the Department via Banner Assistant to Business Manager. Places teaching, research, blanket orders, service contracts and stationery supplies in TUmarketplace. Handling travel arrangements, invoices, travel reimbursements via Concur. Answer telephones, greets visitors and handles queries from faculty, staff and students. Contacts Facilities department for repairs and prepares work orders. Assists with the department seminar series, events with facilities and caterer. Assist with mail/packages distribution and updating the mailboxes in the office. Creates and maintains database and spreadsheet files. Performs other duties as assigned.
