Assembler
We are seeking a dedicated Assembler for our South Bend, IN location. This role involves working at heights and on ladders, focusing on assembling sheet metal components while adhering to quality and safety standards. The position requires teamwork, and construction experience is highly beneficial. Responsibilities
Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal using fasteners and drivers. Ensure work meets quality specifications and safety guidelines. Screw sheet metal panels together and install insulation. Utilize power tools such as drills, grinders, and plasma cutting equipment. Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials. Use a calculator and tape measure for accurate measurements. Fasten seams and joints with bolts, rivets, caulks, and metal drive clips. Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets. Assemble and fit pre-fabricated parts to form subassemblies. Maintain cleanliness of the work area. Essential Skills
Experience with assembly, sheet metal, hand tools, and power tools. Mechanical assembly skills. Ability to read blueprints and tape measures. Experience in installation assembly, fabrication, construction, and sheet metal fabrication. Previous mechanical assembly experience, particularly in building large equipment. Experience in construction, including carpentry, drywall, and metal roofing. Proficiency in using power tools like drills, grinders, impacts, and saws. Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret blueprints is preferred. Must own steel toe shoes. Must own or acquire a basic set of hand tools (wrenches, socket wrenches) within two weeks of starting. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Work Environment
This role is based in a fabrication shop environment, which is darker, dirty, and loud. Manufacturing involves large control panels that sit on top of commercial buildings. Working hours are from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with potential shifts on Fridays and Saturdays. Why Work Here?
