Position Description Summary/Purpose:
The
Program Coordinator
for the CNA (Certified Nursing Aide) & PCT (Patient Care Technician) programs is responsible for strategic leadership, compliance, and educational excellence in alignment with Connecticut DPH regulations. This role encompasses curriculum oversight, faculty supervision, accreditation coordination, clinical partnerships, and program evaluation, ensuring compliance with statutory training, competency, and instructor requirements mandated by the state.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure the CNA training program meets Connecticut Public Health Code Oversee approval and renewal of CNA and PCT programs by DPH, ensuring curriculum, clinical agreements, and instructor qualifications meet state standards. Ensure PCT training is delivered by or under a Primary Training Instructor, an RN with at least 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in a chronic/convalescent nursing home; ensure PCT trainers meet criteria including minimum experience in elderly care and appropriate licensure. Curriculum & Instructional Leadership Lead development, implementation, and revision of curriculum for both CNA and PCT programs in compliance with Connecticut DPH technical requirements and competencies. Maintain clinical site agreements and oversee clinical instruction components Coordinate onsite DPH observations and maintain records of classroom, skills lab, and training equipment as required Recruit, train, and evaluate the Primary Training Instructor and other faculty, ensuring all instructors have completed coursework in adult teaching or possess equivalent experience, particularly supervising nurse aides. Provide ongoing mentorship and professional development for instructional staff. Collaborate with faculty to implement early intervention and support for at-risk students. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare facilities for clinical placements. Serve as the liaison to clinical sites and manage clinical scheduling and student placement logistics. Manage program budgets and resources effectively. Oversee procurement of supplies, simulation equipment, and instructional materials. Other Functions :
Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates. Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends. Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort. Knowledge, Ability and Skill:
Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. In-depth knowledge of Connecticut DPH regulations for CNA and PCT training programs. Familiarity with Prometric CNA examination standards and NHA PCT certification requirements. Proficiency in instructional technologies platform Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational practice. Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master's degree preferred. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut. Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one (1) year in a chronic or convalescent nursing home. Experience in curriculum development, adult education, and supervisory roles. Prior experience in CNA or PCT instruction or program administration is strongly preferred. Completion of adult teaching coursework or substantial experience supervising nurse aides. Compliance with DPH instructor qualification and curriculum submission procedures Special Requirements:
Valid license & insured vehicle Must have completed a Train-the-Trainer program approved by the CT Department of Public Health. Valid driver's license and insured vehicle (if travel to clinical sites is required). Must pass background and health screenings per regulatory guidelines. Full-Time Employee Benefits:
