As a nurturing university community, we challenge students, faculty, staff, and administration to fully realize their highest academic, professional, and personal potential.Position Description Summary/Purpose:The Department of Nursing at Goodwin University is seeking an MSN prepared individual to serve as an adjunct clinical faculty. Clinical rotations will take place in a variety of health care settings (hospital, long-term care facility, clinic, etc.). The PT clinical instructor would be responsible for overseeing LPN students during their clinical rotation as well as evaluating their associated written clinical packet and other assignments.*We are looking for candidates to work from our Bridgeport, CTAND East Hartford, CTlocation*Fall Semester starts September 2025RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:(The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.)Facilitate the clinical experience in acute care, long-term care or clinic settingsFacilitate the clinical experience in the laboratoryReview and provide weekly feedback to students on clinical packetsComplete a midterm and final evaluation for each studentAttend professional development activities to remain informed of current trends and new approaches to instruction/clinical practiceProvide a meaningful pre- and post-clinical conference to enhance student's clinical learning/experienceBecome thoroughly familiar with all university policies and procedures and comply with all university policies and proceduresAttend at least one departmental meeting per semesterSupport a multicultural environment and embrace the university's rich diversityMaintain a professional appearanceDemonstrate professional attitude, philosophy, compassion, and commitment that promotes student growth and learningPerform all other duties as assigned by the Program Director (LPN)Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followedOther Functions:Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.Knowledge, Ability and Skill:Demonstrated commitment to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and work in an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity.Ability to effectively communicate with clinical partners, colleagues and students.QualificationsMinimum Required Qualifications:Education, Training and Experience:Master's degree in nursingCurrent and active RN License in the state of Connecticut (or eligible)3-5 years of nursing experienceClinical expertise in current evidence-based practiceTeaching experience with nursing students is preferredAbility to exercise individual initiative, independent action, and sound judgmentStrong planning and organizational skillsAbility to work collegially in a team environmentAbility to work effectively with diverse populations(This job description does not constitute an employment agreement between Goodwin University and employee.
