Why does the job exist?

This position assists with budget coordination, management, and projections. This position submits the Budget Adjustment Requests (BARs) to the Department of Finance and Administration. The position processes journal entries and journal vouchers to correct payroll and various expenditures. This position will track performance measures, visitation, revenue and expenditures. This position will be the liaison to the EMNRD Administrative Services Division for budget. This position will audit accounting entries and WEX. This position will handle OPRs (Operating Transfers of funds across agencies). This position will handle contract management including tracking contract expiration dates, assistance with development and review of contracts.

How does it get done?

Assist with the State Parks budget preparation, reconciliation, monitoring and oversight, to include Federal Grant budgets Contract management for the division Performs complex operational, compliance, financial, and investigative audits and provides advisory services Serve as a conduit between SPD and ASD

Who are the customers?

Internal and external customers, visitors throughout the state of New Mexico and surrounding states who are campers, hikers, and boaters that come to visit the park for a variety of reasons. Local community businesses in surrounding areas of the park.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor¿s Degree and five (5) years of experience in program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Knowledge with the NM State Procurement Code, Statewide Human Resources, Account and Reporting System (SHARE) Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written Strong time and project management skills Experience in federal grant management

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or Business Administration and three (3) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, preparing Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports, and conducting financial audits. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling seven (7) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

- State of New Mexico Driver's License - Defensive driving certification within six months from the date of hire

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required. Direct customer interaction and some travel may be required.
