Research Assistant
The Johns Hopkins University Krieger School of Arts and Sciences (KSAS) is seeking a Research Assistant within the Mind Brain Institute who will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, and support neuroscience research projects involving neurophysiological and behavioral study in non-human primates. Specific Duties & Responsibilities Performing specialized and routine procedures. Acclimation and behavioral training of non-human primates (NHPs). Assisting during aseptic surgeries for surgical implantation and recording implants in NHPs. Neurophysiological recordings with high-density probes. Analyze behavioral and neurophysiological data, including spike sorting. Prepare and assist in aseptic surgeries for implantation of surgical and recording implants in NHP. Assist during neurophysiological recording experiments with silicone probes Perform the analysis of behavioral and neurophysiological data. Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in delivering exceptional customer service. Demonstrated proficiency in Windows-based word processing, internet, and spreadsheets. Ability to work independently, as a team member, and under direct supervision. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with a diverse research staff and with confidential materials. Ability to follow protocols, policies, and procedures and respond appropriately when presented with novel situations. Demonstrated excellent record of attendance and punctuality. Basic knowledge of statistical analysis Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. Classified Title: Research Assistant Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/03/CD Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $23.75 - $30.30 HRLY (Commensurate w/exp.)
