Position Summary:
The Company is seeking a dynamic and results-driven
Director of Operations
to oversee and optimize all aspects of our asset-based Less Than Truckload (LTL) and Warehouse operations. This leadership role is critical in driving efficiency, maintaining service excellence, managing cost control, and ensuring compliance across cross-dock, warehouse, and fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the LTL operation. Drive performance metrics including on-time delivery, dock efficiency, cost per shipment, and claims ratio. Oversee dispatch, linehaul, pickup & delivery, and cross-dock operations. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, compliance, and safety. Manage and support all terminal operations and warehouse personnel. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Maintenance departments to ensure seamless end-to-end service. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and technology integration (TMS, routing, telematics). Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies. Analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing operational teams. Manage budgets, P&L statements, and cost-control strategies.
Qualifications: Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or LTL operations. Proven leadership experience managing multi-site or regional trucking operations. Deep understanding of LTL pricing, freight handling, and network optimization. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, ELD compliance, and safety practices. Experience with TMS, dispatch software, and transportation KPIs. Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills. Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
