College Intern, Office of Maintenance Operations

Works with ODOT staff and partners to establish and maintain pollinator habitats on ODOT right-of-way by planting wildflowers and removing unwanted vegetation using hand and mechanical methods. Performs vegetation and wildlife assessments using scientific survey methods, dichotomous keys, and other identification tools. Participates in or leads pollinator education programs with the public. Designs interpretive signage and publications. Manages inventory of photographs and publications. Works directly with state and federal agencies, wildlife biologists, landowners, conservation groups, incarcerated individuals, volunteers, and the general public to expand pollinator habitat across Ohio. If operating a state-owned vehicle, must show proof of a valid drivers license or must provide own transportation. This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards. This position is unclassified per Section 124.11(A)(29). The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
