Who You Are
The Staff Accountant - Will support the Controller in day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and special projects. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, detail-oriented, and looking to grow in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable:
Process vendor invoices and maintain accurate payment records. General Ledger Maintenance:
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations; assist in month-end and year-end closings. Bank & Account Reconciliations:
Perform daily cash reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution. Payroll Support:
Assist with payroll processing and related tasks. Audit & Compliance:
Assist in preparing schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits; ensure adherence to GAAP, company policies, and internal control requirements. Job Costing:
Allocate labor, materials, and overhead costs to projects; maintain accurate job cost reports; assist in tracking project profitability. Special Projects:
Assist the Controller with financial modeling, process improvements, and accounting system implementation.
What You Bring
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; Associate's degree with strong experience considered. Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics. 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate, construction, or service industry environment. Basic knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Eager to learn and grow professionally.
