About the Role: The Warehouse Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of warehouse activities within the transportation and warehousing industry. This position is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, maintaining inventory integrity and supporting supply chain processes. The Warehouse Handler contributes to a safe and organized work environment by adhering to safety protocols and handling materials with care. This role requires collaboration with team members and other departments to meet daily operational goals and deadlines. Ultimately, the Warehouse Handler ensures that products are handled efficiently and delivered on time, supporting overall customer satisfaction and business success. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely, typically up to 50 pounds or more. Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols. Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred but not mandatory). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Preferred Qualifications: Forklift operator certification. Previous experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment. Familiarity with inventory management software and barcode scanning systems. Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking. Good communication skills to effectively work within a team and report to supervisors. Responsibilities: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents. Safely load, unload, and move materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Organize and store inventory in designated locations to optimize space and accessibility. Prepare and package orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping standards. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse to promote a safe working environment. Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies to management. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily warehouse operations and resolve issues promptly. Skills: The Warehouse Handler uses physical strength and stamina daily to handle and move materials safely and efficiently. Attention to detail is essential for verifying shipments, organizing inventory, and preparing orders accurately to prevent errors. Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks requires technical skill and adherence to safety standards to avoid accidents. Communication skills facilitate effective teamwork and coordination with supervisors to meet operational goals. Additionally, familiarity with inventory software enhances the ability to track stock levels and report discrepancies, contributing to smooth warehouse operations.
