Material Handler
Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for loading and unloading materials in the production environment. They must adhere to all safety protocols set by the company and ensure timely delivery of materials. THIS IS A TEMP TO HIRE POSITION. START TIME AT 6:00AM, HOURS VARY 8 OR 10 HOURS DEPENDENT ON CUSTOMER NEEDS. Duties/Responsibilities: Storage and Inventory Management: Organize and store materials in designated locations within the warehouse or storage area. Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized inventory management systems. Perform cycle counts and physical inventory audits to reconcile inventory discrepancies. Picking and Packing: Retrieve materials from storage locations based on work orders. Ensure that materials are properly packaged and secured to prevent damage during transit. Material Handling Equipment Operation: Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move materials within the warehouse. Safely operate equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety regulations. Perform routine maintenance checks and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning. Quality and Safety: Follow established procedures and protocols for handling, storing, and transporting materials. Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards, accidents, or incidents to supervisors or management. Qualifications
Competencies: Must be able to understand written and oral instructions and have the ability to communicate effectively with others. Solid understanding of production machinery and proper assembly procedures. Excellent knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of inventory management systems or software. Experience with barcode scanning or RF scanning technology. Experience with Epicor is a strong plus. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or warehousing is a plus. Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment preferred but not required. Forklift certification and experience is required. Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to lift, climb, push and pull as needed. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
