highly skilled A-Level Automotive Technician

with a strong background in advanced diagnostics and driveline repairs. This technician will work independently on complex issues, utilize modern vehicle data and diagnostic equipment, and provide mentorship to junior technicians. Experience Requirements Total combined automotive technician experience:

5 years A-Level technician experience:

Minimum

36 to 48 months (3 to 4 years)

performing advanced diagnostics and repairs at the A-Level competency Candidates with fewer than 36 months at A-Level are encouraged to apply if they demonstrate strong diagnostic skills and a willingness to develop quickly. Key Responsibilities Use vehicle-generated data and scan tool outputs to perform accurate, efficient diagnostics Diagnose and repair driveline components including transmissions, differentials, and drive shafts Use an oscilloscope and other advanced diagnostic tools comfortably for electrical and mechanical troubleshooting Work proficiently on CAN-bus and other vehicle communication systems to identify and resolve faults Independently conduct drivability diagnostics on approximately 90% of vehicles received Mentor junior technicians, sharing expertise and best practices to support team development Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and communicate effectively with service advisors Maintain shop safety standards and workspace cleanliness Qualifications 5+ years total technician experience , including 36–48 months at A-Level or equivalent advanced technician role Strong ability to interpret vehicle data and perform diagnostics using modern scan tools and scopes Demonstrated experience repairing driveline and drivetrain components Proficient in CAN-bus system diagnostics and troubleshooting Effective mentor and team player, willing to assist others in skill development ASE certifications preferred but not mandatory EPA Section 609 certification or willingness to obtain Valid driver's license with a clean record Own set of professional-grade tools Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and skill level Full-time schedule with paid holidays and PTO Access to up-to-date diagnostic equipment and specialty tools Supportive team environment emphasizing growth and respect Employee discounts on parts for personal and family vehicles Opportunity for continued training, certifications, and career advancement
