Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel school buses, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems to ensure optimal performance. Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle. Collaborate with other technicians and staff to improve service efficiency and effectiveness. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology. Provide excellent customer service to drivers and school administrators regarding vehicle performance and maintenance needs. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics preferred. Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or technician, preferably with school buses. Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems. Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. You should be proficient in: Electrical Systems Diagnostics & Repair Diesel Engine Systems Brake & Suspension Systems Preventive Maintenance & Inspection Transmission & Drivetrain Systems Automotive Repair Machines & technologies you'll use: Diesel engine Automotive Vehicles Diesel Vehicles Salary info: $28 - $32 / hr
