Job Description Salary: $43,000.00/Year NOW HIRING Gym Ninja & Recreational Boys Gymnastics Supervisor Applicant must be available for evening hours during the week and on weekends. Are you passionate about movement, motivation, and mentoring youth athletes? Were looking for an energetic team leader for our Obstacle Course Training (Gym Ninja) and Boys Recreational Gymnastics programs! Gym Ninja is a high-energy, structured classes that focuses on agility, strength, coordination, and gymnastics fundamentals for kids ages 4-14. Classes include obstacle course-style challenges, tumbling, strength training, and skill-building in a fun and safe environment.

Gym Ninja & Recreational Boys Gymnastics Supervisor is a full-time position, exempt position. Gym Ninja & Recreational Boys Gymnastics Supervisor is responsible for the leadership of obstacle course training and recreational boys gymnastics classes. The position supervises the gym ninja and boys gymnastics program and staff.

ABOUT US:The Oak Lawn Park District, incorporated in 1944, has a long and proud history of serving the recreational needs of our 56,000 residents with a myriad of recreational programs and services. We operate under the state tax cap as a municipal corporation, meaning we are our own taxing body. Overseen by a Board of five elected officials, the District manages a combination of 34 parks and facilities which cover over 280 acres. In addition, we manage a Special Recreation Cooperative that offers recreational programs and services to individuals with disabilities in 9 municipalities.

QUALIFICATIONS Thorough knowledge of Obstacle Course Training and the sport of Boys Gymnastics. Be able to instruct Preschool through levels 1-3 of the Mens Development Program (MDP) from USAG Gymnastics. Bachelors Degree in related field. Five years of coaching/athlete experience in Obstacle Course Training and Boys Recreational gymnastics. Mandated Reporter Training through the Department of Child & Family Services USA Gymnastics Safety, Safe Sport, Risk Management, and all other applicable USA Gymnastics Trainings Ability to cooperate and work with private groups, agencies, and the general public Good organizational, written and oral communication skills. Ability to perform required duties with initiative, good judgment, accuracy, persistence, creativity, integrity, tact and courtesy.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Gymnastics Coordinator/ General Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Oversee the updating, training, and evaluation of all Gymnastics classes on Myskillchart.com each session. (focus Gym Ninja and Boys Gymnastics ) Understand and teach classes according to the Oak Lawn Park District Gymnastics program class curriculum, policies and regulations. Supervise and give direction to part-time staff as well as communicate any issues with Gymnastics

Coordinator/General

Manager. Plan and implement staff training in collaboration with other full-time gymnastics staff. Assist with planning of and demonstrate leadership skills Open Gym Family Fun events. At all times serve as an advocate for the Gymnastics program: respond as appropriate to program inquiries with the public and participants of the program. Act as a liaison for the Gymnastics

Coordinator/General

Manager in their absence and convey all pertinent information as necessity deems. Attend all required meetings and workshops including but not limited to CPR and First Aid training and keep current USAG Safety Certifications. Demonstrate the ability to comply with all Oak Lawn Park District and Gymnastics policies and regulations. If a major economic event occurs that limits park district operations or forces a park district shut down and restricts employees from performing their normal job duties, they may be assigned to duties outside of their job description as warranted by the situation. Obeys and enforces District safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety program that is pertinent to the activities conducted by the department. Assist District in fulfilling agencys mission, vision, and strategic plan, including attending any related meetings or performing any related job duties. Work during mandatory Oak Lawn Park District holiday events.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Comprehensive knowledge of the Gymnastics Staff Manual for the Oak Lawn Park District and adhering to the guidelines as stated as deemed warranted in the performance of this positions duties. Perform all other related duties as assigned and are deemed appropriate relating to this position.

PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS: Work all scheduled hours, 40 hours a week as designated by supervisor. Must be able to work weekends, mornings, and evening hours. Can perform instruction, demonstrate basic skills, spot participants (catch and carry participants), and move equipment. Equipment should not exceed more than 1/3-body weight of the individual.

PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS: Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to use good judgment in absence of supervision.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS: Worker performs activities indoors. Indoor environmental conditions will include lighting and temperature.

COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS: Has the ability to communicate with verbal and written language to lead programs. Employee must possess time management and organization skills to effectively perform their job. Employee must have ability to make judgments concerning confidentiality of information and problem solving. Employee must obey and enforce all safety rules, regulations, and procedures established by the safety program that are pertinent to the activities conducted by the Gymnastics Department.
