Position Summary The Events and Conference On Site Manager serves as a point of contact and principal liaison for the oversight of numerous events for both internal and external clients. This position requires night/early morning, weekend hours, and on-call hours as determined by the Director of Events Management.
Responsibilities Manage the operational logistics and support services provided for assigned events by working in close coordination with staff from Facilities Services, Information and Technology Services, the on-campus food services/catering contractor, audio/visual technology support contractor, security contractor, custodial contractor, and other necessary entities to ensure events receive the appropriate support services that ensure attendees and guests have a safe and enjoyable experience. Independently respond to campus client needs and build positive experiences with working relationships with internal and external client event coordinators in the execution, support of event services, and details. Manage and oversee the set-up/clean-up for all assigned events. Supervise work study students in their roles as event assistants. Ensure event guidelines (including those in the Events Management Plan established by the City of San Rafael) are clearly followed and communicated to all constituents. Prepare post-event reports, analysis and assesses opportunities and make recommendations for improving service to internal and external constituencies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years' professional experience, preferably in a higher education environment. Substantial and progressively responsible experience in, and knowledge of, planning, production and management of events Detail oriented Excellent time management skills and abilities. Ability to establish overall timelines, meet firm deadlines and set priorities Strong employee customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills. Must be professional, diplomatic and able to serve a variety of constituents with equity, fairness and tact Excellent written and verbal communication skills Current driver's license and satisfactory driving record required and must be maintained
