We are currently recruiting for an experienced, senior-level Electrical Engineer for our Boston office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute electrical designs following the Electrical Department’s Procedures and Standards, and applicable client standards.
Collaborate with the Managing Principal, Project Managers, and Electrical Team Leader to plan work and manage deliverables within budget.
Monitor project schedule, status, and technical issues; review all designs before client submission with supervisor and Department Head.
Lead technical teams and deliver design solutions for various clients; support staff on technical and administrative issues.
Ensure compliance with all relevant Codes and Standards in team activities.
Improve the team’s deliverable quality, communication, attitude, and efficiency continuously.
Design power distribution, lighting, emergency, and standby power systems per NEC codes and standards.
Develop and evaluate engineering solutions for projects across commercial, mission-critical, healthcare, science, technology, government, and specialty markets.
Coordinate with other design disciplines to ensure electrical systems integrate with project goals.
Manage project budgets and scope of work.
Perform Construction Administration tasks, including site visits, RFIs, and shop review.
Conduct conceptual design studies, site surveys, system sizing, and space planning for electrical equipment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
OPERATIONS & STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Manage technical tasks and project efforts within the Electrical Team, balancing deliverables, client expectations, and budgets.
MARKETING / SALES
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Participate in or lead client presentations as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS
Proficiency in Excel, Revit, SKM, AGI 32, and AMPCALC 4.
Strong analytical skills.
Proven leadership experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred); ability to obtain licensure in MA within one year.
10-15 years of experience in MEP consulting, design-build, architectural, or construction firms.
EIT required; PE, LEED certifications preferred.
