Job Description Cosmo Prof Job Title: Assistant Manager Essential Function Store Managers are responsible for hiring, developing, and leading all store associates while ensuring optimal customer experiences, effectively overseeing all store operations, and maintaining brand standards. Develop strategies and plans to achieve key performance indicators and financial targets through business analysis, action planning, effective communication, and consistent accountability. Assistant Managers, as part of their development, support the Store Manager in all areas outlined below and are responsible for all primary duties when the Store Manager is not present.
Primary Duties
30% Brand:
Provides supervision and supports the direction and planning of associates' daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional client experience, maximizing sales/KPIs, and driving customer loyalty in assigned stores. Emphasis on both in-store selling and Omni-channel. Ensures all brand standards are met, such as merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc. Acts as the main contact to resolve customer issues and concerns. Analyzes store trends and anticipates customer demands.
30% People:
Engages, trains, and develops teams to achieve positive results. Leverages internal hiring platforms and actively recruits to build a strong network of external candidates. Identifies strengths and opportunities for associates and addresses them through coaching or counseling. Holds team accountable to company policies and expectations. Maintains positive relations by resolving concerns and keeping associates informed. Builds strong relationships with Store Manager peers and maintains consistent communication with AM/DM. Fosters diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
30% Operations:
Ensures execution of all company processes through training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement. Supports digital strategies such as Omni-channel fulfillment (SFS/SDD/BOPIS). Manages inventory, payroll, and store opening/closing procedures. Follows through with directives, projects, and tasks timely and accurately.
10% Safety/Loss Prevention:
Ensures a safe environment for all, enforces policies, and protects assets by following inventory and cash control procedures. Utilizes reporting, tools, and technology for analysis. Ensures compliance with HAZMAT training and execution.
Knowledge, Skills/Abilities, and Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred: 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience
Preferred: 1+ year management experience
Ability to lead/support a team to meet objectives
Effective communication skills
Flexible scheduling availability
Cosmetology license is desirable but not required
