Description Technology is essential to carrying out our mission, providing best-in-class service to donors, and helping our nonprofit community thrive. The Information Technology Director provides strategic leadership to drive technology innovation and infrastructure solutions that advance FFTC’s mission and strategic framework. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in infrastructure and enterprise solutions, combined with a passion for leveraging technology in service of social impact, and excellent technical and non-technical communication skills. YOUR UNIQUE IMPACT | ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Strategic Technology Leadership Lead the development and execution of a forward-thinking technology strategy that drives innovation and digital transformation Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on emerging technology trends, risk mitigation, and strategic opportunities, and clearly communicate strategic plans and decisions to IT and broader FFTC team Ensure the sustainable use of resources by overseeing IT budgeting, vendor selection and relationships, and technology procurement Enhance Infrastructure and Operations Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure across all environments (cloud, hybrid, on-premises) to support operational continuity and program delivery Ensure high availability and performance of all core systems, including data centers, servers, networks, and storage Direct IT operations, including helpdesk services, device lifecycle management, and technical architecture best practices Ensure Seamless Collaboration and Communication Systems Optimize, implement, and support the selection of communication systems and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, VoIP, video conferencing) to foster seamless cross-departmental engagement and collective impact Maximize Cybersecurity and Compliance Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and identifying and eliminating vulnerabilities Maintain a proactive approach to risk management by managing incident response planning and disaster recovery readiness Manage and Develop Talent Lead and mentor the IT team, overseeing daily operations, performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative environment and culture of innovation, accountability, and service excellence Promote professional development and leadership growth that reflects FFTC’s values and vision for sector excellence Collaborate with Vendors and Stakeholders Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to identify technology needs and implement user-centered solutions that streamline workflows and enhance productivity Evaluate, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts and relationships for IT services, hardware, and software Serve as a liaison and subject matter expert between IT, Executive Leadership, and the broader FFTC team Champion Processes and Best Practices Collaborate across departments to gather user stories and use cases to inform new platforms, services, hardware and security measures, ensuring all needs will be met by new vendors Develop end-user first approach toward systems, security, and platform implementation and improvement Provide seamless, efficient, and simple workflows, maximizing automation while maintaining the highest standards of security Foster best practices for security, vendor selection, and interdepartmental collaboration on IT issues and needs Requirements WHAT YOU’LL NEED FOR SUCCESS: QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related equivalent practical experience 10+ years of IT leadership experience, including 5+ years at a senior management level Strong background in infrastructure management, infrastructure and network architecture, and enterprise systems Experience managing IT operations in a small-to-mid-sized organization Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and strategic technology initiatives Up-to-date knowledge of latest IT developments Ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple terms Preferred Experience in the non-profit sector or mission-driven organizations Familiarity with donor management systems, CRM platforms, and grant-reporting tools Project management experience Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, ITIL, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Broad understanding of the security and technology domain and experience managing vendors Key Competencies Strategic Thinking Operational Excellence Change Management Communications & Collaboration Security & Risk Awareness Mission Alignment Commitment to Equity and Inclusion Salary: $170,000/year+ depending on experience Seniority level Director Employment type Full-time Job function Information Technology Note: The job posting appears active; no explicit indication of expiration is present.
