Job Summary
Supports the lead project manager in planning and executing Nassau projects critical to the strategic and financial goals of the company. Works actively across company departments to develop project plans, coordinate actions and follow ups, and support execution to achieve stated benefits. Works closely with project teams consisting of business leads, business analysis and testing resources, technology resources and external vendor leads and staff. This role must work well within an entrepreneurial environment that is fast paced and results-driven.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
In close collaboration with project leadership, manages and delivers on activities and tasks supporting the vision for execution, maintaining alignment with the strategic and financial objectives of the company
Manage all aspects of project execution, project reporting and tracking of project health
Identify issues and key decisions, and actively drive escalation, solutioning and course corrections throughout project lifecycle
Create detailed resource model and ensure appropriate roles, knowledge and skills on teams to deliver on program objectives; work closely with department resource managers and project managers to manage priorities, logistical issues and negotiate conflicts
Partner with and provide high motivation to project teams to execute and deliver
Work with extreme accountability and ownership of deadlines and issues
Support project budget and financial tracking; manage project change controls
Guide business leads, business analysts, testing leads and others as needed on project standards, processes, documentation and controls
Ensure projects are compliant with corporate policies, including legal, risk and audit processes and procedures
Effectively manage and influence vendors as well as technical, business, cross-departmental and corporate resources to execute and produce results
Maintain appropriate communications, coordination, and teamwork across the various business and corporate departments, to ensure attainment of the business goals
Actively manage project plans and deliverables, ensuring clarity of direction and motivation to team through ongoing communication of project goals and objectives
Manage expectations of the project team and key stakeholders through effective, continuous communication of project status and results
Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management
Must maintain appropriate attendance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Project professional with at least 2 years of experience in managing cross-functional business and technology projects
Experience in the insurance industry is preferred, ideally life and annuity experience
Four year college degree or equivalent work experience; masters degree/advanced education a plus
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred or equivalent experience
Astute at creating structure and driving execution
Energetic, self-assured, self-motivated, enthusiastic and achievement-oriented
Excellent meeting facilitation skills and persuasive manner
Strong knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project Planning tools (eg. SmartSheet)
Understands interrelation of and business and technology areas
Demonstrated ability to manage and influence staff and managers at all levels
Superior communication skills and ability to communicate to a variety of audiences and stakeholders
Capable of managing diverse projects and coordinating the activities of others in a performance-oriented culture
Solid ability to create a vision, take a broader term perspective by clarifying long-term vision, creating action oriented plans, and anticipating future possibilities
Solid ability to marshal, motivate, influence and manage resources company-wide without direct reporting control
Critical thinker with ability to implement tactically
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Strong sense and knowledge regarding individual and organizational dynamics; and the skill to quickly identify and address issues in order to accomplish objectives
Ability to demonstrate good judgment, manage confidential data and perform duties with integrity
Results-driven, resilient in face of obstacles and capable of working with a variety of personalities and styles
Ability to manage vendor relationships to achieve business goals

Our compensation system is designed to reward performance, support development and job growth, and compensate individuals relative to their contribution to our organization.The base salary for this position falls within Nassau’s salary band D: $55,000-$105,000 depending upon experience.
