The objective of this role is to provide administrative support to NTIA Bureau senior leadership, directly contributing to the NTIA Bureau mission.
There are two openings for Senior Executive Assistants to support two NTIA executives: (1) Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and Deputy Administrator, and (2) Deputy Assistant Secretary for Operations and Administration.
Background The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) within the Department of Commerce advises the President on telecommunications and information policy. Its focus includes expanding broadband access, spectrum use, and ensuring internet innovation and growth, which are vital for America's competitiveness and addressing national needs.
Responsibilities
Perform sensitive administrative functions for a federal Senior Executive and their staff.
Handle highly confidential activities requiring knowledge of organizational policies.
Manage the executive's schedule, calendar, appointments, and travel.
Oversee correspondence, draft and review communications, and prepare reports.
Operate office equipment and use Office Suite proficiently.
Manage sensitive information with discretion.
Administer specialized programs and act on behalf of the executive as authorized.
Perform other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications At least 8 years of experience supporting executives, including calendar management, travel arrangements, correspondence, and document review. Prior experience supporting federal Political Appointees or SES members is required.
Work Location
On-site at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Herbert C. Hoover Building, Washington, D.C.
No regular telework; limited situational telework possible.
Hours of Operation Monday through Friday, during normal business hours, with flexibility to accommodate the executive's schedule.
Period of Performance One year from the award date.
Education Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field preferred. Alternatively, 4 additional years of relevant work experience may suffice.
