Terms of Employment • W2 Contract, 24 months • This position is hybrid with Tuesday-Thursday onsite. • The office is located in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
Overview Our client is seeking a Jr Business Analyst to investigate incidents that result in damage to facilities. This role involves using the Illinois Underground Utility Facilities Damage Prevention Act (also known as the JULIE law) as a guide to determine liability. The position requires responding to and coordinating investigations of major incidents such as explosions, fires, and electrocutions, as well as significant company damage events. The successful candidate will meet with customers, claimants, and witnesses to gather facts, evaluate damages, and make a liability determination. The role also includes acting as a company representative in depositions and litigation, and providing educational services to both internal and external parties.
Responsibilities • Investigate incidents that result in damage to company facilities. • Use the Illinois Underground Utility Facilities Damage Prevention Act as a guide for investigations. • Respond to and coordinate investigations of major incidents, including explosions, fires, and electrocutions. • Meet with customers, claimants, and witnesses to obtain facts of incidents. • Evaluate damages and determine liability. • Act as a company representative in depositions and litigation. • Facilitate communication between the company, locate contractors, and excavators to minimize facility damage. • Document investigations to assist in collecting on the cost to repair facilities. • Provide educational services to internal and external constituencies.
Required Skills & Experience • 1-5 years of experience. • Experience in locating and excavation. • Understanding of the Illinois Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Act. • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record. • Reliable transportation. • Investigative and root cause analysis skills. • Deductive reasoning and a commonsense approach to construction and locating activities. • Ability to work alone.
