Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Engineer DevOps – DevSecOps Engineer (24-435) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. The selected candidate will support the C2BMC DevSecOps team in developing and deploying Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capability.

Essential Functions:

Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools

Responsible for working independently on large projects; at other times, will be in a collaborative team environment

Understanding of HP server configuration

Work on systems administration-related hardware and software issues for different network environments

Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating

COTS ,

GOTS , and developed software

Propose system administration process improvement to reduce overall maintenance requirements

Determines systems requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility

Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies

Develops and recommends corrective actions

May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers

Basic Qualifications:

An active Secret clearance is required to start

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered

DoD 8140 certification at

IAT Level II or higher

is required to start

Experience with

Linux

or

Windows System Administration

Scripting skills in languages such as

Bash

or

PowerShell

Experience with automation

Knowledge of DevSecOps principles

Work with leading DevOps practices and tooling:

Ansible Automation Platform , including

Ansible Tower

HashiCorp Packer and Vault

Gitlab CI/CD

Nexus Pro

Experience in virtualization technology, including

VMware

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of the software development life cycle

Experience with Agile methodology
