Truck Driver, Over-the-Road (Tankers)

The Truck Driver, Over-the-Road (Tankers) drives and operates semi-tankers and straight trucks as required. Essential functions and requirements include prioritizing health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times. Completes assigned routes as designated by transport dispatchers with loaded tankers consisting of customer materials to be transported to a disposal facility. Prior to driving transportation equipment/vacuum trucks, prepares for the daily trip by inspecting vehicle and equipment, fueling truck, and ensuring all equipment is in excellent operating order. Completes manifests, company documents, and other marking and placarding documents for every load managed. Maintains a logbook for DOT compliance and state and federal regulations. Drives to the customer site to collect waste material and/or transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste material to facility for unloading and disposal. Acts as company representative with courtesy towards every customer. Loads freight and may climb tankers or pull hoses. Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

Education: High-school diploma or equivalent (required). Experience: 1+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (required). 3+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (preferred). Tanker/Hazmat endorsement (required).

Competencies: Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Excellent communication skills for interacting with both internal and external customers. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator. Ability to understand RCRA compliance standards, OSHA safety and DOT regulations. Ability to meet company driving qualifications with a CDL. Ability to obtain valid endorsements as required. Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role.
