While assigned to the Fort Bragg Central Issue Facility (CIF), the Accounting Clerk III is responsible for posting to registers and ledgers; balancing and reconciling supply and property accounts; verifying the internal consistency, completeness, and mathematical accuracy of supply and property accounting documents. This role involves reviewing, coding, and verifying transactions and data entries, researching and resolving issues, discrepancies, and exceptions. A deep understanding of supply and property accounting policies and regulations is essential. The position also requires reconciling and verifying the clerical accuracy of various reports, lists, calculations, and postings.

Major Job Activities

  1. Gather, verify, and perform data entry of information.
  2. Examine, verify, and correct accounting documents such as FLIPL and SOC to ensure accuracy per AR 735-5.
  3. Handle administrative tasks, verify statistical reports, compile information, and resolve discrepancies.
  4. Process materials through data processing systems for property and supply accounting.
  5. Analyze and reconcile unit records.
  6. Maintain manual and electronic filing systems in accordance with AR 25-400-2.
  7. Assist in conducting inventories.
  8. Perform other duties as directed by management.

Material & Equipment Used

  • Standard office equipment and computer applications.

Working Environment

  • Use of PPE such as masks, vests, steel or composite shoes, gloves, hard hats, and eyewear in certain areas.
  • Work primarily in a temperature-controlled office environment, with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.

Physical Activities

  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Lift a minimum of 45 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for 6-8 hours daily.
  • Push, pull, carry, stoop, bend, squat, and reach as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Valid REAL ID Drivers License with no restrictions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship (birth certificate or U.S. Passport).
  • Maintain driving privileges on Fort Bragg.

Experience:

  • At least four years in supply operations.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Strong communication skills.

Skills:

  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
