Major Function:
The Accountant I is responsible for performing various accounting and financial analytical functions to prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal reporting requirements, supporting the company's goals and objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and analysis as assigned by the Finance Revenue Cycle Manager.
- Work closely with the Finance/Revenue Cycle Manager to ensure accurate General Ledger and Grant reporting.
- Demonstrate effective communication, a positive attitude, flexibility, multi-tasking, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Support the finance team with subsidiary ledger Grant Accounting and General Ledger accounting.
- Ensure appropriate coding and backup documentation for all federal, state, local, and private grants.
- Review all invoices related to grants, verify correct GL grant codes before recording into the accounting system.
- Maintain copies of all invoices and supporting documentation of expenditures by grants.
- Adhere to grant agreements and provisions.
- Conduct periodic meetings with program managers to ensure proper expensing of budget line items for all grants.
- Collaborate with project officers on grant revisions and budget modifications.
- Access EHB and other portals for grant payments and reporting.
- Prepare grant reports as part of month-end close and keep documentation accessible.
- Create process documentation for all grants and tasks.
- Assist in cash forecasting and revenue maximization models.
- Assist in grant audits, year-end audits, and 401K audits.
- Promote consistency and standardization within the Finance Department.
- Participate in cross-functional training within the department.
- Perform tasks and projects as assigned by the Finance/Revenue Cycle Manager and CFO.
- Manage multiple deadlines and project goals efficiently.
- Implement and maintain accounting procedures compliant with GAAP.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisor.
- Work on special projects as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency with automated accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, MIP), spreadsheets, and Word.
- Experience in healthcare or community clinics and knowledge of fiscal administration is preferred.

- Strong writing skills for high-level data presentation.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
Organizational Relationships:
- Report to the Finance/Revenue Cycle Manager.
Physical Demands:
- Regular walking, talking, hearing, standing, handling objects, and occasionally sitting, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- Lift up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required.
Work Environment:
